Location: Mark's Basement

This is, quite possibly, one of our most spontaneous ideas ever (also, one that least resembles what is often considered to be an "adventure"). During a late night of gaming, Zach was the first to fall asleep, and did so on the couch. What started as Mark and Isaiah placing tiny, colorful umbrellas in the holes of Zach's computer monitor and speakers through sheer boredom turned into the most surprising of birthday parties ever. Especially considering that it was nowhere near Zach's actual birthday.

After decorating the monitor and speakers with said umbrellas (also a paper plate over the monitor screen), hanging bits of streamers from the ceiling with Scotch tape, and a single balloon with a markered-on smiley face, it was decided that we had not gone far enough. The three party-planners (Mark, Isaiah, and Steve) searched the basement for random items that could be placed in small, empty cardboard boxes. These boxes were then tied with ribbons and placed on the table next to the monitor.

We then went upstairs to create birthday cards--all of which were created in either inaccurate or cliché ways. Also, a "birtday" hat was made. These cards were placed among the presents on the table. Only one thing was missing: the birthday cake.

Lucky, Mrs. Gleim had purchased some horribly disgusting donut holes, which nobody was about to eat anytime soon. Instead of letting them go to complete waste, they were the primary ingredient to our cake. The donut holes were stuck together using toothpicks, and the entire mound was covered in a frosting-resembling layer of peanut butter. Also, there was a candle. The cake was then put on the table as the final touch.

The three of us went back to our video games and whatnot to wait for the birthday boy to wake up on his own. Eventually he did, and in a fit of confusion, the happy balloon was destroyed. Zach was then forced to open his presents and wear his hat while pictures were taken of this joyous morning.

The cake, sadly, went uneaten.

You may notice spelling errors throughout the pictures ("congradulations" on the front of Isaiah's card, Steve spelling "Zach" as "Zack", and Mark's "birtday" hat). To be fair, these preparations took place around the hour of 3:00 AM.
