If, for some reason, you're wondering what happened to Digital Cross, the answer is this: we killed it— euthanized it, really. We were walking down the city streets one night when we decided, since we certainly hadn't been writing anything for it, and because our main goals for it* had either been compromised or had simply failed to come to fruition, that it would be best to simply shut the behemoth down. And we certainly don't use the word “behemoth” in regard to its popularity, influence, or, god knows, its amount of content--but rather what it felt like chained to our collective leg.

Digital Cross was a never really a project intended for success. Mostly, it was just something for us; something to do, something to write about. But after about a year of slow updates and waning interest, it started to feel like an unfulfilled obligation to our (practically nonexistent) audience, and an unsatisfactory creative outlet for us (not to mention a waste of money; every month that went by with no update was more cash burned). So, on the aforementioned fateful night, we decided to shut it down and begin a new project, one that really was for us, where we could do whatever we liked rather than being limited to writing about games.

The next day, the new site (named Meats & Fishes as a reference to an elaborate inside joke) was already built and almost fully functional. It was to serve as a place where we could dump any variety of musings and work; our comics, short stories, editorials, and reviews of games, music, or movies, as well as document any epic adventures we happen to have. It allows a freedom to wander and expand in a way that Digital Cross never could, and also looks prettier and works better.

So this is Meats & Fishes. Welcome and enjoy.

*Originally, the site began as a way to scam our way into E3 with nice looking Press Passes and, with any luck, we might be sent preview copies of games. E3 has since been cancelled, and, well, we were pretty naïve to think we’d ever get preview copies. We were young and foolish then.
